The day of victims of crimes in Budapest
The Police Headquarter of Budapest organized a professional conference with the participation of the professionals of victim support on the memorial day of victims of crimes.
The Professional Conference on Victim Support was traditionally held 22th February, the day of victims of crimes. Our president was invited as well and reported about the work of our organization.
The goal of the program was to strengthen the partner relation of the professionals on the field and to emphasise that police officers who get in contact with victims should take an active role in crime prevention to contribute to the reduction of secondary victimisation. Dr. Tamás Terdik the Police Commissioner of Budapest emphasised in his opening speech that police officers should be familiar with the psychology of becoming a victim and the process of becoming a victim. They need to realize what way should be shown to particular victims in order to give them proper help.
As a part of the program the K.V. Association and Láthatáron Group performed I stand up for you performance that helps in the treatment of prostitution and human trafficking.
Dr. Szilvia Gyurkó children’s rights specialist the founder of Hintalovon Children’s Rights Foundation and the president of the board of trustees gave a presentation on the special needs of children victims, László Fügedi, our president (Fehér Gyűrű KHE) talked about the work of the organization.
